Within the scope of the Financial Support and Guidance Programme, many activities are carried out to provide financial and technical guidance support on OHS for 24 months to 80 underground mining workplaces. These activities are explained below according to support and guidance subjects.

Financial Support for OHS Services:

With this support, financial support is provided to 80 mining workplaces selected within the scope of the programme for a period of 24 months to cover the costs of the OHS Professionals employed at the workplace via Occupational Health and Safety Registration, Tracking and Monitoring Software (ISG-KÂTİP).

Within the scope of the programme, a support of EUR 3300, allocated as EUR 15 per employee up to a maximum of 250 employees will be provided to each workplace each month. Support of up to EUR 90 thousand per workplace will be provided.

Financial Support for Rescue Trainings

Financial support will be provided for the rescue trainings of 3000 employees operating in 80 underground mining workplaces producing coal or metal ore, which have been selected in order to increase the number and qualifications of the rescue staff in the mining workplaces and to prepare the employees for emergencies. The amount of support to be given to the employer for these trainings is EUR 18 per employee.

The payments for the support will be made to the employer following the submission of the documents to the Directorate General proving that the employer has completed the rescue trainings.

Guidance Support Activities

1 experienced team leader and 10 engineers are employed in underground mines to conduct the guidance support.

Field visits are made to the workplaces that benefit from the support along with the project team. With these visits, guidance support is provided for technical documentation studies concerning the field of OHS. Within the scope of the support, guidance is provided according to the requirements of the workplaces, on the following subjects:

  • Risk assessment
  • Health and safety document
  • Ventilation and underground mine plans
  • Directives
  • Root cause analysis of incidents
  • Preventive approach
  • Trainings and Briefings
