The 8-act theatre play titled “SHIFT STORIES WITH FOREMAN GÜVEN”, which is carried out under the “Interactive Seminars Through Drama” activity of the “Improving Occupational Health and Safety Especially in Mining Sector Project” (MISGEP), financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (DGOHS) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security continues to be staged for mine employees in Manisa.
The tour of the interactive theatre play “SHIFT STORIES WITH FOREMAN GÜVEN” was initiated, which was prepared under the “Interactive Seminars through Drama” activity of MISGEP with the aim of encouraging communication and cooperation between mine employees and creating a team spirit. The first stop of the tour was Manisa Demir Export Soma Eynez Underground Coal Mine. Despite the hot weather conditions, the interactive theater, which was liked by the audience, was repeated and exhibited for the evening shift workers. Employees who had both fun and emotional moments expressed their satisfaction.
The second stop of the “Shift Stories with Foreman Güven” interactive theater play tour was IMBAT Madencilik operating in Soma Yırça Village on 30 June. The interactive theater, which meets with the mine workers on the 14:45 shift, will be presented again on July 1 at the same time and at the same place.
In the opening speech of the seminar, the Head of Department of the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Ergün CAN noted that with MISGEP, they aim to reach underground coal and metal mining workplaces and their employees in Turkey. In his speech, Mr. Ergün CAN stated, “With the MISGEP Tour Stage, which is prepared in line with these objectives, we will go to mining pits, where mine employees work, in more than 30 provinces, organise nearly 60 seminars, and reach 10.000 mine employees.”
Interactive Training Seminar Through Drama, developed with the drama technique, which is one of the most effective methods for understanding human behaviour, communication-based issues, and abstract concepts, consists of 8 parts; and it includes different themes such as on-the-job training in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), personal protective equipment, fortification, prevention of occupational accidents, the psychological state of the employee, the current OHS law, rights, employee representative, rescue, and communication. At the end of each part, the audience is included in the play, and an interactive play is performed by taking their comments and evaluations.
The Manisa tour of Interactive Education Seminars through Drama will continue with shows at Yeni Anadolu Madencilik on July 4 and 6, 2021 and at Demir Export Madencilik on July 5, 2021.
