A video conference on “The Effect of the Pandemic in the Mining Sector” is held within the scope of the events for the International Miners Day on 3 December 2020, between 14:00 and 16:00, by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services.
The video conference, which is open for the general public, will begin with the opening speeches of the Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Cafer UZUNKAYA, President of Turkish Miners Association Mr. Ali EMİROĞLU, President of Mining Industry Employers Union (MASIS) Mr. Naci İLCİ and the Director of the ILO Office for Turkey Mr. Numan ÖZCAN. Later, under the moderation of Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Furkan YILDIZ, MISGEP Project Team Leader Mr. Gökhan GÜLER, Manager of OHS Risk Management in TUPRAG Efemçukuru Gold Mine Mr. Göksel ALPASLAN, Ms. Halshka Graczyk of the ILO Occupational Health and Safety Unit, OHS and Environment Director of Demir Export Mr. Ahmet Ozan UYANIK and Senior Network Manager of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work Mr. Tim TREGENZA will give information regarding the impact of the pandemic in the mining sector, and the efforts to protect miners in Turkey and the world in terms of occupational health and safety.
