Denizli Tour of “SHIFT STORIES with FOREMAN GÜVEN” which is prepared under the “Interactive Training Seminars through Drama” activity of the Improving Occupational Health and Safety Especially in Mining Sector Project (MISGEP), financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (DGOHS) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, was completed with 2 plays that were staged on 12 and 13 July 2021.
The first play of the Denizli tour was staged on 12 June 2021 at Hüseyin Çokal Er Square in the district of Beyağaç for the employees of Türk Maadin A.Ş Tavas Krom İşletmesi (Chrome Mining). Before the event, Covid-19 vaccine shots were given to the willing participants at the booth set by Denizli Provincial Health Directorate.
District Governor of Beyağaç Mr. Yusuf Ziya YAKTI, Mayor of Beyağaç Mr. Mustafa AKÇAY and Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Furkan YILDIZ participated in the event, which attracted great attention. In the opening speeches of the event, District Governor of Beyağaç Mr. Yusuf Ziya YAKTI stated “Even though the mining sector, which is very important for our district, has its own difficult working conditions, I am sure that all difficulties will be overcome with such innovative training activities that have an artistic perspective which can catch up with the times.”
Mayor of Beyağaç Mr. Mustafa AKÇAY stated that he is pleased that this activity is held in this district and that he is sure that this interactive event will bring new perspectives to all participants.
In his speech, Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Furkan YILDIZ stated “As you can see in our slogan is ‘We are, wherever you are’, and today we are very happy to meet you here in the 10th play of the MISGEP Interactive Training Seminar ‘SHIFT STORIES WITH FOREMAN GÜVEN’ tour. We aim to make occupational health and safety a culture. With the MISGEP Tour Stage, which is prepared in line with these objectives, we will go to mining pits, where mine employees work, in more than 30 provinces, organise nearly 60 seminars, and reach 10.000 mine employees.”
After the opening speeches, the 8-act interactive theatre was staged for the participants. At the end of each act, the opinions and contributions of the participants were received. At the end of the event, Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Furkan YILDIZ expressed his thanks to General Manager of Türk Maadin Ms. G. Şeyda ÇAĞLAYAN and all the participants.
The second play of the Denizli tour was staged for Stoneterroir Madencilik (Mining) employees in the schoolyard of Denizli OSB Technical College in Honaz.
“SHIFT STORIES WITH FOREMAN GÜVEN” interactive theatre play which was prepared with the objective of encouraging communication, cooperation and creating team spirit among mine employees by MISGEP Interactive Seminars Through Drama, was staged twice in Denizli, reaching nearly 500 mine employees in total. The July tour of the Interactive Seminars Through Drama will be completed with the interactive theatre that will be staged in Burdur on 14 July 2021.
