Project Objectives:

  • Information about the deficiencies in the OHS legislation for enterprises will be obtained.
  • The capacity of enterprises to obtain information about risks and the measures to eliminate these risks will be increased.
  • Training materials and curriculum (if possible, will be uploaded to ISO’s website) and a resource pool will be created about trainers on different OHS topics and it will be ensured to increase the knowledge of enterprises about certain subjects and technical aspects of OHS.
  • Training materials on OHS in Europe will be obtained, learning the context of EU OHS legislation and gaining experience will be provided.
  • Presentations and training materials focusing on sectoral OHS practices for the metal, machinery and chemistry sectors will be created, and awareness on sectoral OHS issues will be raised.
  • With the creation of the Identification Sheet, strategies will be created for the end beneficiaries to generate consolidated results from the integrated consultancy reports and to improve the level of OHS implementation in Turkey.

Activities / Outputs  :

  • A gap analysis will be conducted via e-mail and/or face-to-face interviews with 120 enterprises to assess the level of implementation of OHS legislation.
  • It is planned to visit 120 enterprises in Istanbul, primarily in industrial zones, by a team consisting of representatives of ISO and organised industrial zones in order to conduct effective risk assessments with local occupational safety experts.
  • As the final part of the integrated consultancy, an action plan will be prepared for each enterprise (120 in total) as a specific roadmap to fulfil all the requirements of the OHS legislation.
  • Mini OHS MBA Trainings – ISO will organise 4 of these programmes in Istanbul. Each of the trainings will last 4 weeks and will consist of 12 chapters with approximately 120 participants in total including occupational safety experts, employees and employers of industrial organisations.
  • 2 ISO staff and 4 industrial organised zone staff will attend the EU Training Programme on risk management or other relevant OHS issues offered by an authorised training center in Germany.
  • Based on the sector, the 3 seminars will bring together a total of approximately 150 participants, including OHS staff, sectoral participants, occupational safety experts and employers from the priority sectors of the project which are metal, machinery and chemistry (including plastics).
  • Identification Sheet will be prepared.
  • A closing seminar with 80 participants will be held.
