Safe Shipyards with Technology Based Trainings Project

Project Objectives: The objective of the project is to create a distance learning plan for the shipbuilding sector and to develop virtual reality scenarios related to working in shipyards and adapt them to software. Thus, it is aimed to make the OHS infrastructure to be built successful and sustainable by increasing the learning efficiency of the employees and to reinforce the OHS culture by ensuring that the vocational high school students and sector employees who are the project stakeholders receive a better education, and to continue to create continually and actively used OHS content.  

Activities / Outputs:

Establishing a Project Team: A team of 4 people will be formed.

  • Establishing OHS Laboratory: An e-learning platform, 3 e-learning modules and 2 simulation scenarios, training curriculum and certificates (100 certificates) to be given to the participants who successfully complete the training, 1 OHS Laboratory that makes use of innovative learning methods will be established.
  • Awareness Seminars: Two seminars will be held with 250 participants.
  • Study Visits Abroad: During the study visit to Finland, good practices will be observed on site for 4 days.
  • OHS commission activities: The requirements of safe shipyards in the Turkish Ship Industry will be discussed and reported in the 15-person commission that will convene 6 times during the project, once every 3 months.
  • Impact Assessment Report: OHS committees will publish an impact assessment report that takes into account all the activities and outputs of the project within the framework of the decisions taken and implemented.
  • Pilot implementation activities: Pilot implementation activities will be carried out in 5 shipyards with the participation of all managers, and white-collar and blue-collar employees. In order to ensure the continuance of the practices, the studies will last for 2 days in small groups.
  • Visibility and Communication activities: The project team will try to increase the impact of the project by promoting the project at every opportunity. Visits will be organised to various public, non-governmental, private sector and educational institutions. With the help of digital and traditional media, information about the project, the EU contribution and the results of the project will be shared with the public and disseminated.
  • Promotion and visibility materials will be prepared within the scope of visibility.
  • The promotion of the project will be ensured by the active use of social media channels.
