Project Objectives: The overall objective of the project is to improve occupational health and safety conditions and develop harmonious and inclusive approaches in the marble mining sector, which is the most important sector of Diyarbakır province.
- It is aimed to; have a total 4000 employees, of which 2000 are employees in the high-risk sectors, benefit from services and trainings,
- Have 30 employers’ benefit from services and trainings,
- Support 15 Social Parties / NGOs / Local Actors / SMEs on decent work and,
- Reach 500 people with awareness raising activities.

- Analysis of OHS and working conditions
- Organisation of project implementation workshops with Joint Health and Safety Unit companies, employee representatives and employers
- Providing training to employees, employers and families
- Installation of the Virtual reality simulation room
- Conducting occupational safety drills in enterprises
- Sectoral OHS implementation trip
Outputs:
- Contributing to the creation of OHS awareness by providing training to 2000 employees and their families from at least 20 companies.
- Ensuring that employers have adequate information about their obligations and responsibilities with the training given to a minimum of 30 employers, raising OHS awareness in order to prevent occupational accidents.
- Establishing OHS boards in workplaces (at least 10 workplaces) and establishing the Diyarbakır Mining OHS Committee, which will include 1 representative from each of these boards, along with representatives from NGOs and university. Enabling employers to find solutions to problems on the basis of common sense by sharing experiences and problems encountered in their own companies through this committee.
- Delivering occupational safety training to employees with the model of “learning by living and experiencing” by making sector-specific models with the virtual reality-simulation room.
- Supervising and reviewing emergency scenarios and taking necessary corrective and preventive actions through practicing with the participation of employers and employees in three companies.
- Contributing to the adoption of safe working procedures in enterprises by preparing 4000 printed and 1 digital publication containing safe working procedures.
- Sharing information by organising an OHS implementation trip in cooperation with the mining company from Italy.
