Grant Programme

Call for proposals for “Improving Occupational Health and Safety Grant Scheme”; it was published on 27/12/2018 by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, Department of European Union and Foreign Relations (Contracting Authority) 

Within the scope of the grant program, the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, the Project Beneficiary allocated a budget to finance the execution of the interventions to be implemented (6 Million €). Within the scope of the grant program to be carried out; it is aimed to improve OHS  by finding a place in the society with the proactive approach built by the 6331 numbered OHS Law in compliance with 89/391 EEC the European Framework Directive on Safety and Health at Work.

The grant program in question; towards especially for very hazardous sectors other than mining (according to NACE Coding System) is designed to encourage projects planned to include activities such as supporting decent work at workplaces, creating a culture of safety throughout the country, improving working environment conditions, increasing the OHS awareness and risk perception of employees including vulnerable groups and employers, supporting social dialogue and union rights at all levels, and strengthening guidance capacity with a special focus on OHS.

Within the scope of the “Improving Occupational Health and Safety Grant Program” to be implemented within the frame of the “employment” action title of the Employment, Education and Social Policies Sectoral Operational Program (EESP SOP), it is aimed to carry out works to improve the working environment and OHS conditions of the target groups and to increase the competence of the related parties in the field of OHS in the mining industry and in other very hazardous sectors.

Non-profit legal entities organizations such as NGOs occupational organizations; (chambers of commerce and / or industry, chambers of merchants and craftsmen, civil unions / confederations / sector representative organizations, exporters unions, labour unions / confederations, organized industrial zones (OIZ), SME representative organizations, etc.); universities, vocational and technical high schools in mining, machinery, metal, metallurgy, electricity and electronics, chemistry, construction, agriculture, maritime technologies; international (intergovernmental) organizations as defined in article 43 of the European Union Financing Treaty, etc. might benefit from the grant in question.

For grant projects to be submitted under the grant programme with a budget of 6 million €, grant support will be provided between EUR 75,000 and EUR 200,000, and the duration of the projects will not be less than 12 months or more than 18 months.
