In this category, a variety of activities that will raise awareness on OHS will be conducted. The interventions to be conducted under this category include:
KICK-OFF MEETING: A Kick-Off Meeting will be conducted with 300 participants in Ankara, aimed at providing a platform to inform participants on the project. It is aimed to cooperate with all stakeholders of OHS with the panel to be organised as part of the Kick-Off Meeting and it is recommended to take the opinions of the parties regarding the Innovative and Intelligent Solutions of Personal Safety in Mining, OHS Policies and Practices in the Mining Sector, Operational Risk Management in the Mining Sector, Occupational Accidents and Occupational Diseases.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE PROGRAMME INFORMATION MEETINGS: It is planned to execute two Information Meetings that will be held to inform relevant parties regarding the financial support mechanism under Financial Support and Guidance Programme of the Project in Ankara and Izmir. It is planned to reach 250 participants in each session, resulting in 500 participants in total.
PROJECT VISIBILITY: This intervention aims to design, produce, print and disseminate awareness raising materials such as technical guidelines, training materials, radio spots, and brochures, as well as promotional materials such as USB, mugs, notebooks, bag.
CARTOONS AND PUBLIC SERVICE ADVERTISEMENT: A series of cartoons aiming to explain OHS and safety culture to children at pre-school and school age will be produced. In addition, it is aimed to inform the public about OHS by radio spots to be broadcasted in 25 provinces and the public service advertisement.
PHOTO COMPETITION: A photo competition regarding OHS in very hazardous sectors will be carried out. As part of raising of awareness on OHS, it is planned that selected photos will be displayed at some selected places, such as the congress halls, metro stations or institutional places in Ankara in which a high number of visitors are expected to visit.
DIGITAL APPLICATION: A digital application including information about OHS for relevant stakeholders will be developed. The proposed mobile application targeted all OHS experts working at the mining companies to present all relevant and updated information about OHS guides, including legislation and sample forms.
WEB SITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS: Social media accounts and Project website will be designed and developed. The main purpose of the website is to provide an electronic platform for applications under the Financial Support and Guidance Programme, track announcements, documentation checks for mining companies qualified to receive financial support under the Financial Support and Guidance Programme, participation to training activities and share the project’s related outcomes.
Mining companies and participants under the Financial Support and Guidance Programme component will be able to make proper applications via the website through user interface controls. This platform will be used for the purpose of ensuring a clear and fair selection through the selection criteria set by the General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety.
Social Network Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube are targeted at using digital networking through dedicated accounts.
TECHNICAL GUIDELINES: Technical guides to be prepared in Turkish and English will cover five key issues that take into account the framework terms of ISO 31000 and ISO 31010 for underground metal and coal mining Projects. These five main topics to be confirmed by the DGOHS are:
- Ventilation on Mines,
- Spontaneous Combustion Management
- Behavioural-Based Safety
- Coal Dust Explosion Prevention and Suppression,
- Effective Methane Drainage and Use in Coal Mines.
ACHIEVEMENT BOOK: An Achievement Book of the Project will be prepared and published in order to share the results of the Project with relevant stakeholders. The Achievement Book of the Project will be published 300 items, 200 of which will be in Turkish and 100 of which will be in English. The Book will be prepared and delivered to the OB in electronic format for further actions after ending of the Project.
CLOSURE MEETING: After the completion of Project activities, a Closure Meeting will be organised under this intervention. The results and achievements of the Project will be shared with relevant parties during the Project Closing Meeting. It will also serve as a platform on which all relevant stakeholders can present opinion and feedbacks about the Project implementation
