MISGEP “Employee-Employer Trainings” Starts in the Heart of Mining, Soma.

An online meeting was held with the participation of Provincial Directors of the Social Security Institution (SSI) and Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) prior to the training of the employees in the mining sector and the consultation with the employers. Provincial Directors/Representatives of İŞKUR and SSI of Aydın, Denizli, İzmir, Manisa, and Muğla provinces, the Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Furkan YILDIZ and the Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Cafer UZUNKAYA participated in the meeting.

In his speech, the Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Mr. Cafer UZUNKAYA stated that one of the main objectives of MISGEP is to reach large audiences and that our local administrations have important missions at this point.

The Deputy Director General Mr. Furkan YILDIZ expressed that the success of the trainings to be held in the specified provinces depends on strong cooperation and communication.

The DGOHS expert Ms. Cansu DİREK ATEŞ gave a brief information on the project activities in the meeting where discussions were held on the employer trainings to be held in the provinces of Aydın, Denizli, İzmir, Manisa, and Muğla within the scope of the project, cooperation on the activities related to the interventions of training of the employees through drama, and evaluation of the process for the joint studies to be carried out.

In addition, the opinions were shared on topics such as the training of 10.000 mine employees on OHS through drama, planning of consultation and information meetings with mine employers in 25 provinces, where mining workplaces are concentrated, in terms of location, date, participant profile etc. in the meeting. Also, it was emphasized that it is important to conduct the interventions in accordance with the pandemic measures.

The meeting ended with the closing speeches made after the questions of the institution representatives and the participants were answered.
